Guru Paduka Stotram
By Anshu and Sai Keertana
In this performance, Anshu and Keertana dance to the Guru Paduka Stotram, written by Sri Adi Shankaracharya, which celebrates the greatness of the Guru. They chose this particular song not only because it honors the Guru but also because they learned and sang this song together on their recent trip to Spain, making it very special to them. For this Summer Camp, they wished to create a Bharatanatyam presentation for the Guru Paduka Stotram. Since they couldn’t find an existing rendition online for Bharatanatyam, they decided to create their own! With the help of a gurubandhu uncle in Hyderabad, they contacted a respected music director who composed and professionally recorded this unique rendition of the ancient stotram. This is the only Bharatanatyam version of the Guru Paduka Stotram ever created. Anshu and Keertana hope to share this song online to inspire future classical dancers to choreograph and celebrate this piece in their own way. They seek all of your blessings and hope you enjoy their self-choreographed performance!
